Dr. Scott Gordon

Dr. Scott Gordon graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2001, and he received his optometric degree from Southern College of Optometry in 2005.  During his time in Memphis, Dr. Gordon served as the national treasurer for the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society, he served as an SCO student ambassador, he received the Outstanding Senior Clinician Award, and he was awarded the American Optometric Association’s Leadership Award.

Dr. Gordon completed a hospital-based residency program at the Memphis VA Medical Center in 2006.  He joined Yadkin Vision Center in 2007 as an associate optometrist, and became a co-owner with his wife (Dr. Gail Gordon) when they purchased the practice in 2008.  Dr. Gordon’s primary interests include diabetic eye disease, glaucoma management, surgical co-management, ocular trauma, and pediatric eye exams.

Dr. Gordon is a member of the American Optometric Association, the NC State Optometric Society, and the Winston-Salem Optometric Society.  He loves spending time with his two children, and he is an active member of Lewisville United Methodist Church.  Dr. Gordon has a passion for motor sports, and he spent 20 years racing at a variety of different tracks and in a variety of different types of cars.  He retired from racing in 2018, after his third season in the modified division at Bowman Gray Stadium.

Dr. Gail Gordon

Dr. Gail Gordon grew up in Davidson County and graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999.  She received her optometric degree from Southern College of Optometry in 2003, at which time she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Clinician Award and the Southern Council of Optometrists Clinical Excellence Award.

After completing a hospital-based residency program at the Memphis VA Medical Center, Dr. Gordon spent two years as an instructor at Southern College of Optometry.  During her tenure, she received the Beta Sigma Kappa Teacher of the Year Award and was named Lab Instructor of the Year.

Dr. Gordon started working as an associate optometrist at Yadkin Vision Center in 2006, and then became co-owner in 2008 when she and her husband (Dr. Scott Gordon) purchased the practice.  Her primary interests include primary eye care of all ages, diabetic eye exams, and the management of glaucoma.

Dr. Gordon is a member of the American Optometric Association, the NC State Optometric Society, and the Winston-Salem Optometric Society.  She is an active member of Lewisville United Methodist Church and the proud mother of two children.

Dr. Brian Jay

Dr. Brian Jay is originally from Greenwood, SC, where he graduated from Lander University in 2014.  He received his optometric degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2018.

 
Following graduation, Dr. Jay completed a hospital-based Ocular Disease/Primary Care residency at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.  He was awarded the Red Eye Award amongst his peers for the top ocular disease presentation at the North Carolina Optometric Society Resident Symposium in 2019, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. His primary interests include diabetic eye disease, age related macular degeneration, and specialty contact lenses. 
 
Dr. Jay is a member of the American Optometric Association, the NC State Optometric Society, and the Winston-Salem Optometric Society.  Outside of caring for the vision of his patients, he enjoys an active lifestyle filled with weekend traveling, sporting events, and boating.
